Recipes from the Van

Recipes from the Van, Take one.
So basically start of December we set off living in a tiny tiny van around Spain and whilst my initial idea was to illustrate/ photograph and indulge into the Spanish food & restaurants documenting each one. This has not and probably won’t happen to be honest. Mainly because when you're living in van, cooking is a whole adventure in itself (& because Joes Vegan or plant based as likes to call it and Spain is probably one of the worst countries for this). But anyway, as I soon noticed my initial project wouldn’t happen, I thought why not illustrate and document the beauty in cooking in a van on two ring gas hob (now sadly just one ring). I have always loved food, cooking & eating, and have slowly figured out as an illustrator drawing food is probably my favourite thing. I love the small moments that can be captured through a photograph but the detail that can come when drawing it, feels like the food is right in front of you. I love it!

A project of mine I have always wanted to work on is illustrating a cookbook, often checking my emails for that special one! But as of yet it has not come, so I thought let’s just do one myself, for myself or for anyone that is interested to be honest. It will mainly consist of recipes from the van, as I have realised you really have to use your imagination otherwise its Pasta each & every night which is also delicious!
